John D. Hostetter is Senior Pastor of Lampeter Church of the Brethren where he has served since September, 1999. Before coming to Lampeter he served as a senior pastor in Hagerstown, Maryland and Pottstown, Pennsylvania where he was president of the Board of Pottstown Cluster of Churches Social Organization. Before entering college and the ministry he worked at a machine shop for a year and spent a year in volunteer service.
He holds a BA degree from Washington Bible College, and earned a Master of Theology degree from Capital Bible Seminary.
He married his college sweetheart, Beth in 1979. They have six children, two sons and four daughters; three are married and three are at home.
Daniel Kulp grew up in the Ephrata Church of the Brethren. He graduated from Eastern University with a degree in youth ministry and theology. He has a variety of ministry experience which includes serving as a leader in a day camp for students in 4th to 8th grade, serving in the youth ministry at Ephrata Church of the Brethren and working at Camp Swatara.
Dan has also participated in a number of mission trips, both in the US and internationally, including Uganda, Haiti, Honduras and Belize.
His ministry began here at Lampeter on June 15, 2008. As Associate Pastor, Dan's focuses are the youth ministry, small group ministry and caregiving ministries in our church.
He was married on July 12th, 2008 to Stephanie Miller.
Melody began working as our Administrative Associate in April of 2008. Prior to becoming staff she was involved in many ministry areas here at Lampeter COB including the Leadership Team, Wednesday Night Happenings Ministry Team, Kitchen Ministry Team and preparing videos for worship.
Her eight years of administrative experience was gained in the corporate business setting prior to having children. Melody enjoyed nine years as a homemaker and is now glad to be working in a ministry environment. As Administrative Associate, she is responsible for assisting the pastors, creating PowerPoint presentations, updating the church website, helping to expedite special requests from ministry teams such as brochures or flyers, and in january, will gain the responsibility of the church newsletter layout.
Melody lives in Lancaster with her husband, Craig, their two children, CJ and Morgan, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Duke.
Shirley Kreider - Secretary
Chances are, if you call the Lampeter Church of the Brethren, you will be greeted by the voice of Shirley Kreider. Since 1987 Shirley has been faithfully serving as the Church Secretary. Shirley and her husband are members of the Founders Sunday School class and live in Lancaster.
Harvey and Shirley Kriner - Custodians
Harvey and Shirley Kriner enjoy keeping the Lampeter Church of the Brethren in order. Shirley has been serving since 1987 and Harvey since 1990. In addition to custodial duties, Harvey also teaches the 2- and 3-year-old Sunday School class and has been doing so since 1990. Harvey and Shirley live in Lancaster.
