The Lampeter Church of the Brethren first began participating in Mission to the Good News Church in 2004. There have been several opportunities to minister to this community since then. The Good news Church is located in the area of Houck in the Navajo Nation. The reservation land includes approximately 27,000 square miles. Its boundaries extend from northwestern New Mexico into northeastern Arizona and southeastern Utah. Dine Bikeyah, or Navajoland, is larger than 10 of the 50 states in America.
Located at the foot of beautiful Blue Mountain in northwestern Berks County, Pennsylvania. Camp Swatara is owned and operated by the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren and is a member of the Outdoor Ministries Association of the Church of the Brethren.
The purpose of Camp Swatara is to provide opportunities in the natural setting for persons of all ages to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, so that they may give their lives to Him in total discipleship.
Please note when planning to send children to Camp Swatara this summer, most full week CAMPS WILL END FRIDAY EVENING. You will need to pick up your campers at 7:00 pm.

Watch the bulletin board for opening camp sites for the Church Camp Out in Family Camp at Camp Swatara. This will be held August 22-24 , 2008. Cabins may be available if you make your reservations on your own. Please let Linda Byers know if you would be interested in cabin accommodations. We may be able to make arrangements to use cabins in the summer camp, however, they would be quite a distance for the Family Camp Ground and the cost may differ. Sites are available for tents and full hookup camper. If you signed up last summer to go again in 2008, please be sure to check your site location as there have been some minor changes.

For more than 30 years, CROPWALKERS have been walking with the world.
We walk with the world... in Vietnam, Cambodia, and other parts of Southeast Asia, where widespread flooding forced thousands of families to flee their homes and villages. CROPWALKERS walk so families can have food and shelter as they rebuild their homes and their lives.
We walk with the world... in Africa, Asia. South America, wherever women and chiidren must walk long distances to get water for their daily needs.
We walk with the world... in the U.S. with neighbors who walk to soup kitchens and food pantries to get food they need to survive.
We walk with the world...in Cambodia and Kosovo, where walking itself is dangerous, as thousands of landmines litter the countryside, an ever-present threat to children, families, and livestock.
We walk because they walk - because millions of people around the world walk every day for food, for shelter, for water, for survival. CROP WALK - walk or sponsor a walker. It makes a difference in our community and the world.
We will again participate in preparing theme baskets for the disaster relief auction. Information will be given to adult Sunday school classes and to those individuals who wish to participate.
Heifer Auction
Our congregation buys a heifer for the auction. Checks may be made to Lampeter Church, designated for heifer fund.
YWAM: Youth With A Mission
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus Christ personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As Christians of God's kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole Gospel for the whole man throughout the whole world.
