Promise Players Auditions will be held for their spring musical comedy,
Smoke on the Mountain, written by Connie Ray and Alan Bailey

Set in the 1930s, this musical tale introduces the singing Sanders family who, after a five-year hiatus, perform their traditional and bluegrass gospel songs at a Saturday Night Gospel Sing for the members of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in North Carolina. Pastor Oglethorpe welcomes the family to the church, where their individual stories and beliefs are shared during the concert.

who -dun-it play, The Case of the Duplicate Date Nut Loaf  by Tom and Celesta Lechworth

Inspector Casey Solved is called to a local church's bake sale and bazaar. As usual, Lillian "Lil" O'Laydee has baked her famous date nut loaf using her family's secret recipe. But wait! Someone else has dared to bake a date nut loaf and put it on the bake sale table beside Lil's! Could it be as good as Lil's...or was her recipe stolen and it truly is a duplicate date nut loaf?!


Auditions will be held at Lampeter Church of the Brethren
Saturday, January 4 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM
and

Sunday, January 5 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM


All will be asked to read from a provided script. Those auditioning for the musical should be prepared

to sing a one-minute song section of their choice (bring your own accompanist) 

or be prepared to sing the first verse of "Amazing Grace."
Those who can play instruments are asked to be prepared to play a one-minute piece of their choice.


Roles in Smoke on the Mountain are for 4 men and 3 women (ages 18+). Preference is for actors/actresses who can sing and play an instrument. 

Production dates are March 20-22 and 26-29, 2020.


Roles for the case of the Duplicate Date Nut Loaf are for 2 men, 4 women, and 1 flex.

Production dates are May 15-16, 2020
