Children's Ministry
Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."
Lampeter Church of the Brethren is very committed to our children. Every child is valued and provided the opportunity to learn about God and serve the community. Our Children's Ministry programs include Sunday School, opportunities to participate in music and drama, nursery care and fun, special events!
Child Protection is Important to Us!
While we invite and encourage folks to get involved with our Children's Ministry program, we also strive to provide a quality program which includes a safe environment for our kids. Every volunteer in the Children's and Youth Ministry programs is required to go through a screening process including all clearances and training required by the Pennsylvania Child Protection Services Law. In accordance with our Child Protect Policy and Pennsylvania law, every volunteer is required to have clearances and training certificates on file in the church office prior to serving in these ministries.
Calendar of Events for Children's Ministry
Nursery Care
We provide nursery care for infants and toddlers through a loving staff on Sundays during our worship service and classes.
Sunday Classes - 9:00 AM
Sunday Worship - 10:00 AM
The nursery is also staffed during Love Feast and Communion and some other special events throughout the year.
Security measures are followed to ensure safety of each child in the nursery.
Children's Worship
Our church family consists of people of all ages, and we feel it is important to make each person of our faith community feel welcome and included in our worship services. We encourage the children to sing with us and participate in as much of the service as they are capable of doing. However, we know the worship hour can feel pretty long for kids, so we have several things that will help our youngest fans enjoy their time at church!
Activity Bags
For children who prefer to stay with their parents, we provide activity bags filled with quiet play items for them to use during the sermon or other quiet times during the worship services.
Children's Bulletins
We also offer weekly children's bulletins which are full of fun activities, scripture, and Bible lessons for children to work on while in worship with their parents. Children's bulletins can be found on the table in the Welcome Center.

Children ages 2 through 5th Grade are grouped according to age (Summer Schedule):
Nursery (Birth to Age 2)
Ages 3 to 2nd grade
Grades 3 through 5
Children's curriculum is used to allow children to hear and share God's good news through the Bible in a variety of ways which include the uses of stories, songs, drama, crafts and games.
The Children's Summer Sunday School usually begins in June and includes Nursery, Preschool and combined classes for Completed Kindergarten - Grade 5.
Children's Ministry Health Policy
In an effort to keep our children as healthy as possible, we ask parents to follow guidelines similar to that of the public school system. Keeping children at home when they are ill, or recovering from an illness, greatly reduces the spread of germs. Please view our complete health policy.
