Our ministries are designed to help you take next steps in growing as a follower of Jesus.Through the use of preaching, worship, teaching, serving, mission work, people's gifting and creativity, we strive to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to all ages. We invite you to consider what might be your next step and connect to that growing and learning opportunity.
At Lampeter Church of the Brethren, we encourage people to become members, but more importantly, we emphasize being partners through participation and involvement. We are not a church of consumers and we encourage all who attend to actively participate in the church.
The scripture below is a scripture we strive to live by as a church:
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen."
1 Peter 4:8-11
We believe every person is called to love in the Jesus way and show hospitality to others. As well, every person has talents, gifts and a calling to be involved in a ministry. Imagine for a moment the joy you would experience for using your time, talents, and spiritual gifts to make a difference. Think how different our church and community would be if we all took time to do what God has uniquely designed each of us to do to be a blessings to others. The ripple effect would be no less than world-changing as each person, through their own unique service, became a blessing to others. God’s love would be felt by others in tangible, life-changing ways. So whether you have lots of time to volunteer or little time, consider how you might make the impact that only you can make.
You might ask then, "Where do I start? "
Begin by identifying what you are passionate about. Then consider how God has uniquely designed you: your personality, skills, abilities, life experiences. Then consider the question, “How can who I am help me make a meaningful contribution in the lives of others? To help you work at this we offer a class called “Introduction to Ministry” If you have never considered how God has uniquely designed you, we would encourage you to participate in this class.
